Crossing Guard
Contract, On-call (Vacation/Sick-time Relief)
Infrastructure & Public Works Department


The Town of The Blue Mountains is a growing and progressive, four-season community with stunning natural features, including the Niagara Escarpment, Beaver Valley and the Georgian Bay shoreline, accompanied by the various recreational activities and experiences they afford. We are currently seeking to fill a contract (on-call) position of Crossing Guard in our Infrastructure and Public Works Department.

Position Overview:
• Assisting children to cross the road at intersections in a safe manner, on their way to and from school, and on nutrition breaks.

• Instruct, teach and model safe street crossing for children.

• Ensure vehicle traffic is stopped prior to children entering roadway.

• Attend safety and related programs at school.

• Liaison with school, police, town, parents, school bus drivers.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
• Requires high school
• 3 months relevant experience

Hourly: $14.67 - $18.01 (2017 Rate)
