Position Description:

The Town of The Blue Mountains is a growing and progressive, four-season community with stunning natural features, including the Niagara Escarpment, Beaver Valley and the Georgian Bay shoreline, and the various recreational activities and experiences they afford. We are seeking to fill the position of Development Engineering Reviewer in our Planning & Development Services Department for a 12 – 18 month contract. Position Overview:  
Reporting to the Manager of Development Engineering, the Development Engineering Reviewer will prepare, coordinate and compile review comments for submissions by the development community to ensure adherence to plans, specifications, instructions, Town Engineering Standards, and industry best practices. Organize and coordinate the Department’s technical review process by circulating design submissions to various internal departments and specialized external peer reviewers, and compile, coordinate and summarize comments for distribution to the proponent. Undertake project management role for Town projects as assigned including project scope development, budget preparation, coordination, consultant and contractor procurement, payment recommendation, and associated duties to ensure design, approvals, and construction of infrastructure are carried out in the best interest of the Town. Undertake field construction inspection as required of works initiated by the Town and/or the development community to ensure adherence to relevant Development Agreements and contract documents.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
• Community College graduate of a 3-year program of civil engineering design of municipal infrastructure or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years as a civil reviewer/technician with substantial experience in the review and approval of development projects
• Eligible for membership in OACETT
• Thorough working knowledge of the development planning approval process
• Experienced user of AutoCAD, GIS and hydraulic computer models

Salary Range: Grade 8 ($60,267- $74,006 - 2018 Rate)
