Oil and Water: New Paintings by Lise Meyers and Ona Alisauskas

Oil and Water: New Paintings by Lise Meyers and Ona Alisauskas 2:00pm - 4:00pm
Location: L. E. Shore Memorial Gallery

Oil and Water juxtaposes experimental watercolours by Lise Meyers, with large scale representational oils by Ona Alisauskas. Both artists use local landscapes for inspiration, but their creative paths soon diverge. Meyer’s deft and energetic watercolours interpret land and waterscapes in new ways using non-traditional materials: canvas, photo-paper, even a linen napkin. Her experimental pieces are exciting and varied in scale and technique. Alisauskas’ large scale, reality-based oil paintings of local scenes and events are a vibrant counterpoint to Meyers’ playful watercolours and demonstrate that oil and water CAN and DO mix. Show runs till August 31st. Contact: Wanda
