2012 Community Volunteer Awards
Consider Nominating a Volunteer Today!
The Town of The Blue Mountains Council is thrilled to announce that again this year, it will formally recognize the accomplishments and contributions of Volunteers in our community at the upcoming Order of The Blue Mountains Community Volunteer Awards Event, scheduled for May 6, 2012.
Volunteers will be honoured in up to seven categories:
- Arts and Culture
- Environment
- Community Services
- Sports and Recreation
- Youth Citizen
- Friend of The Blue Mountains (residents outside of The Blue Mountains who volunteer within our community)
- Community Achievement (a posthumous award)
The Nominees will be judged on the excellence of their contributions to The Blue Mountains.
Achievement, commitment, effort, measurable impact, originality and overall vision will be key considerations.
At this time, The Blue Mountains is accepting nominations. Members of Council welcome you to consider nominating an individual whom you believe has made a positive impact on our community through his or her volunteering efforts and achievements. An application package can be downloaded on the right-hand-side of the page.
The deadline for nominations is March 30, 2012. A panel of judges from our community will review nominations. Award winners will be notified at least 21 days in advance of the May 6 event.
