Short Term Accommodation

Short Term Accommodation

In response to numerous concerns, Council of the Corporation of The Town of The Blue Mountains enacted an Interim Control By-law on February 4, 2008 so as to prohibit Short Term Accommodation uses in all residential zones in the municipality in order that a sudy could be completed with respect to these uses and to determine whether further regulations for these uses were warranted.

Upon the completion of the Study, Council proceeded to adopt an Official Plan Amendment and enact various Zoning By-law Amendments so as to regulate Short Term Accommodation uses.  The Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendments, all as modified, were approved by the Ontario Municipal Board on June 22, 2011.

On November 23, 2013 Council enacted the STA Licensing By-law, a by-law to regulate and govern short term accommodation uses.
