The Town is completing this assessment to select a preferred solution to meet the Town's need for water storage and distribution in Camperdown, Thornbury and Lora Bay. The project will follow the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) Schedule ‘B’ process to evaluate various alternative solutions to meet the Town’s current and future needs.

The study will consider the social, environmental and financial impacts of each alternative.  As part of the MCEA process, the public and key stakeholders will have the opportunity to review and provide feedback. Once the preferred solution is identified, the Town will develop preliminary engineering designs.

Why Now?

As expansion continues on the west side of the Town, the water storage and distribution network must be upgraded to ensure that water service and pressure is maintained in the area.

Project Updates

The preferred solutions identified through the EA process include:

  • Rehabilitating the Victoria Street Water Tower
  • Constructing a new reservoir at 10th Line Booster Pumping Station with upgraded pumps and feedermain loop along Highway 26 from 10th Line to Lora Bay Drive
  • Upgrading the Upper Camperdown Booster Pumping Station.

Notice of Completion for this study has been issued as of December 16, 2021. The complete Project File Report and other information have been posted below.
