Location: Grace United Church, 140 Bruce Street South, Thornbury, Ontario
You are invited to Grace United Church to view the film "NO HOME IN SIGHT". "NO HOME IN SIGHT" is a 1 hour film that is the result of conversations with local homeless youth and local experts and organizations in the area. In August of 2019 there were 697 people homeless in Simcoe County. 137 were age 17 or under. Homelessness is an issue in our area as well, in fact, in 2018, the YMCA Owen Sound Grey Bruce assisted 98 youth in Grey and 49 youth in Bruce in accessing a shelter. 17% of Grey Bruce children under the age of 17 are living in poverty. This event is in partnership with Beaver Valley Outreach and Collingwood Youth Centre. This film was written, produced, and directed by local youth in Collingwood. Their goal is not only raise funds for homeless youth in our communities, but to raise awareness on this local issue. Donations at the door to support this initiative will be greatly appreciated to support this cause.
