Do you enjoy letting other people know all about the great book you're reading? Join us every Thursday at 1:00pm for a Digital Book Club discussion on our Facebook page. Come to Digital Book Club where we talk all things books! Bring whatever book you're reading now. You do not need to bring a new book each week. Each week's discussion will focus on a different topic, with book club members having their discussion in the comments of the video. So, be sure to bring your book when you join Digital Book Club.

Have you ever seen the Milky Way? Do you wish that we didn’t waste so much energy to light up the night sky? It seems the number and brightness of lights we use to light our way at night just grows each year, and how the adverse effects of light pollution now reach all corners of our planet. Would you like to learn about light pollution and how we can appropriately and safely light the night while protecting the natural environment? Join Ian Wheelband from the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada for a virtual discussion on nighttime lighting and how it impacts our environment. Learn about the various adverse effects of excessive lighting, about what is safe and what is not. Learn what you can do to reduce the impact of nighttime lights, at home and in your community. Light Pollution reaches so much further than just the extinguishment of our stars at night. You will need a computer or laptop with a web camera, or a tablet or smart phone to participate in this event. Once registered, you will be sent a Zoom Meeting ID and password to attend this program. Free event. Ages 18 and up.
