The Town is pleased to advise that all municipal waterfront properties with the exception of the Thornbury Pier in the Town of The Blue Mountains are now open.

The Thornbury Pier wil remain closed for 2020. High water has impacted the matting that previously covered the surface. The Town is now working with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada on a solution.

The Town would like to remind residents that the Provincial Orders remain in effect and waterfront areas will actively be monitored and enforced by the Ontario Provincial Police and the Town’s By-Law Department.

Residents are advised that the Thornbury Pier will remain closed until next summer, with a tentative reopening scheduled for June 2021.

The decision to close the pier was made to allow badly needed repairs to be made, and due to the limited space on the pier to accommodate physical distancing.
