Town Website Redevelopment 2021 | Town of The Blue Mountains, ON

To strengthen communication, the Town is in the process of redeveloping the www.thebluemountains.ca website. As the primary communication tool used by both the public and the Town, it’s important the Town website delivers a positive user experience that is easy to search and navigate.

To ensure the website remains effective, the redevelopment project will focus on strengthening the user experience while improving the overall design and functionality of the site. The website will be developed throughout the year and is expected to be launched in November 2021.

Project Updates

The new website was launched on October 28, 2021.
On September 21, 2021, the Town launched a call to the public to participate in user testing sessions. If you are interested in participating in a session on October 2 or October 3, please call 519-599-3131 ext. 295.

How to Get Involved

The Website Development Survey was available between May 10 - 26, 2021. For an overview of the survey results, please click here. In addition, user testing sessions for the new website were conducted between October 2 - 4, 2021.

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to invite residents of all ages to participate in user testing sessions to help develop the new Town website. Scheduled to launch this fall, the user testing sessions will provide valuable insight to ensure that the website meets the needs of residents.

The one-on-one user testing sessions will be conducted in person at Town Hall on Saturday, October 2 and Sunday, October 3, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Each session will take approximately 30 minutes. Registration is limited to a maximum of 25 participants.

Previous Engagement Opportunities

To develop a successful new corporate website, the Town has launched a public survey to gain feedback from residents and stakeholders. The survey results will be reviewed by Town Staff and will be integral in the creation of the new website. The survey is now closed. Thank you for providing your valuable input!

The Town’s corporate website (www.thebluemountains.ca) serves as the primary communication tool for all municipal information, project updates and community news. Through the budget process, the Town identified the need to improve and enhance the user experience of the website, and to increase staff productivity and workflow efficiency through the management of the website.
As the website is often the first touchpoint for both residents, stakeholders, and visitors, feedback from the community is an integral part of the extensive rebuild and website redevelopment process. The development of the new website is underway and will continue to take place through this year with a goal to re-launch a new fully functional website in fall 2021.

Website Redevelopment Survey (Closed): This public survey was launched to gain feedback and input from residents regarding the redevelopment of the Town website. The survey asks residents to identify what works well on the current website and to identify areas that require improvement.
