Circular Economy

The Town is undertaking a project to make important progress on the Town’s sustainability plan, TBM Future Story, Bold Action 14: Develop a Circular Economy Recommendations Report. Circular Economy activities can include maintenance, reuse, refurbishment, remanufacture, recycling, and composting. Broadly, a circular economy tackles climate change and other global challenges, like biodiversity loss, waste, and pollution, by decoupling economic activity from the consumption of finite resources.

This project aims to help identify opportunities for local businesses and other waste-producing organizations in The Blue Mountains to reduce and divert waste, and find collaborative waste solutions. Recommendations may help businesses avoid waste-related costs, improve customer and visitor experiences, and improve the sustainability of business practices. Recommendations may also assist the Town in managing waste diversion and landfill services.

Business and organization representatives are invited to participate in a brief information 30-minute interview to provide input on local waste management needs, challenges, and potential circular economy opportunities in the Blue Mountains.
