Parking & Public Transit

The Town has launched a new Resident Parking Pass Registration System.

The new system allows residents to register vehicles directly through the Town website. Vehicle registration can also be completed in person at Town Hall Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The traditional rearview mirror parking passes are no longer available and will not be mailed to residents. 2023 Parking Passes will remain valid until May 1, 2024. Beyond this date, residents must register their vehicles to park for free at all Town-owned paid parking locations. Residents can register any number of vehicles, provided they have the corresponding vehicle registration and proof of residency.

Parking Passes

Resident Parking Passes

All residents of the Town of The Blue Mountains are permitted to park for free at all paid parking locations owned by the Town by either registering their licence plate or by displaying the printed resident pass in their rearview mirror. Town parking passes do not permit residents to park in privately owned paid parking lots. As of 2024, printed resident passes will no longer be sent to all taxpayers each spring. 2023 Parking Passes will remain valid until May 1, 2024. After May 1, 2024, licence plates must be registered online or at Town Hall to park for free.

Non-Resident Parking Passes

Non-Resident Parking Passes are available to residents of the Municipality of Meaford, Grey Highlands, Clearview Township and the Town of Collingwood. The cost is $100 +HST to register licence plates for the current year. License plates must be re-registered each year.

Registering Your Licence Plate(s)

Licence plate(s) can be registered online or by visiting Town Hall with photo identification, proof of residency and vehicle registration. License plates must be re-registered each year.

Municipal Parking Lots

To better manage public parking throughout the community, the Town has implemented a paid parking program. All paid parking locations are clearly identified by signage. There are also free public parking lots throughout the community.

The paid parking system uses the HonkMobile app which provides the ability to pay for parking online.

To pay for parking, scan the QR code on the Paid Parking signs located throughout the parking lots to access the HonkMobile app. If you cannot access the app, please call (519) 599-3131 ext. 9001 to make a payment.

Parking Tickets and Enforcement

The Town enforces its parking by-laws by issuing tickets to illegally parked vehicles on both public and private property. This type of enforcement is required to maintain legal parking, regulate traffic movement, and ensure public safety.
