The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to ask all residents and business owners - especially snow clearing contractors - for their assistance in keeping fire hydrants clear of snow.

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public of an upcoming temporary lane restriction. The restriction is scheduled to be in place at 209861 Highway 26 in Craigleith on January 6, 2026. This is to allow Enbridge Gas to repair a broken tracer wire. While the work is being completed, portable temporary traffic signals will be in place to control traffic on Highway 26 and vehicles are asked to yield to oncoming traffic on Brophy's Lane.
The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to notify residents that garbage and recycling collection has been suspended for the day. This is for the safety of operators due to weather and road conditions. Please remove garbage and recycling from the roadside.
For all properties where collection was missed, crews will accept double the regular limit on their next scheduled collection day of January 7, 2026. Residents must have their waste to the curb by 7:00 a.m.
The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public of an upcoming temporary lane restriction. The Town of The Blue Mountains Water Division would like to provide residents with an update regarding the major water main break and Boil Water Order currently in effect in the Town of Collingwood.
Update December 13, 2025: The Town of The Blue Mountains is offering water to impacted Collingwood residents at the Town's water tower located at 81 Victoria Street in Thornbury. A tap is on the outside of the south side of the building and is available for free filling.
The Town of The Blue Mountains Fire Department would like to advise residents of upcoming changes to the Ontario Fire Code. As of January 1, 2026, the Ontario Fire Code is introducing new requirements for carbon monoxide alarms in residential properties.
The Town of The Blue Mountains Fire Department would like to share some important information regarding an upcoming event and fire safety heading in to the holiday season.
The Blue Mountains Professional Firefighters Association Local 4986 will be holding a Holiday Hamper Drive in support of Beaver Valley Outreach on Saturday, December 6. They will be collecting Foodland gift cards and cash donations.

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to notify the public of an important change to a traffic pattern within Thornbury. Louisa Street West between Bruce Street and Elma Street is now a one-way westbound route. Signage has been installed indicating this change in pattern. A by-law will be brought to Town Council in the near future to formally recognize this change.
