The preferred alternative for both bridge sites is to replace the existing bridges with new single lane bridges. Bridges 2 & 3 are scheduled for construction in 2022, with Bridge 13 scheduled for 2023.

The Town has undertaken two concurrent Class Environmental Assessments for bridge site 2/3 (6th Sideroad) and bridge site 13 (Main Street, Heathcote) to determine the preferred method to address deteriorating structural condition, roadway safety and physical bridge spans.
Why Now?
The existing bridges have deteriorated to the are considered to be deficient with respect to load and barrier protection.
