Make a Public Comment

• Public comments made at a Committee of the Whole meeting must be in response to a matter included on the meeting agenda. 
• Public comments made at a Council meeting can pertain to Town matters. 
• Three minutes is allotted to each speaker to provide public comments. 
• Speakers are permitted to appear in person or virtually. 
• If a speaker wishes, they can provide their public comment to the Town Clerk in advance of the meeting, for the Clerk to read on their behalf. 
• There is no requirement to register in advance to provide public comment, unless the speaker wishes to provide their comment virtually. 
• Each commenter shall provide their name and address, and is required to address their comments to the Chair.
• Comments shall not refer to personal, litigation or potential litigation matters, or be in response to matters that have been the subject of a Public Meeting, it being noted that the verbal commenting period has ended.
• There is no opportunity for Committee or Council to respond to the public comments.

• All Committee of Council meetings, with the exception of the Committee of Adjustment, are held virtually only. Speakers are required to attend virtually to provide their comments. If a speaker wishes, they can provide their public comment to the Legislative Coordinator in advance of the meeting, for the Coordinator to read on their behalf. 
• For all Committee of Council meetings, including Committee of Adjustment, you must register in advance to provide public comment. Deadline to register is 1:00 p.m. on the Friday before the meeting. 
• Each commenter shall provide their name and address, and is required to address their comments to the Chair.
• Comments shall not refer to personal, litigation or potential litigation matters, or be in response to matters that have been the subject of a Public Meeting, it being noted that the verbal commenting period has ended.
• There is no opportunity for Committee to respond to the public comments.

• Comments made at a Public Meeting must be in response to the subject of the Notice of Public Meeting. 
• Ten minutes is allotted to each speaker to provide their comments in response to the Notice of Public Meeting. 
• Speakers are permitted to appear in person or virtually. 
• If a speaker wishes, they can provide their comments to the Town Clerk in advance of the meeting, for the Clerk to read on their behalf. Written comments are received, circulated to Council and summarized at the Public Meeting. Written comments are attached to the followup staff report regarding the matter. 
• There is no requirement to register in advance to provide comments at a Public Meeting, unless the speaker wishes to provide their comment virtually.
• Each commenter shall provide their name and address, and is required to address their comments to the Chair.
