Notice- Contribute to the Town’s New Economic Development Strategy

The Town of The Blue Mountains has launched a survey to gain feedback and ideas from local business leaders and residents regarding the creation of a new five-year Economic Development Strategy.

To gain feedback, two surveys have been developed:

  1. Business Community Survey that seeks input from local businesses; and
  2. General Public & Resident Survey that seeks input from residents in the community.

Both surveys are available until February 19th, 2020 and can be accessed online by visiting: https://yourview.thebluemountains.ca/economic-development-2020. Paper copies of the survey are available at Town Hall and at the Blue Mountains Public Library.

“The creation of an Economic Development Strategy is important to ensure that our community grows in an economically viable and sustainable manner.” explained Chair of the Economic Development Advisory Committee, Councillor Peter Bordignon. “Feedback and input from residents and local businesses is extremely important as it will help to ensure that the economic vision is aligned with community interests”.

The results from this survey will be reviewed and analyzed by the Economic Development Advisory Committee and Town staff. The outcomes will be used to develop action items and specific tactics within the strategy. The strategy is being developed in partnership with the Economic Development Advisory Committee and the Ontario Ministry of Agricultural Food and Rural Affairs. This strategy is expected to be published by Summer 2020.
