Through collaboration with local business and community leaders, the Town of The Blue Mountains has formed a task force to lead the recovery efforts related to COVID-19.
Approved at the March 30, 2020, Special Meeting of Council, the task force will focus on strategic efforts and initiatives to ensure that both the Town and community are well-positioned and ready to implement relief and recovery efforts.
“The primary focus of the task force is to work collaboratively to ensure that our tourism, agriculture and small business economies come out stronger and more resilient than ever before,” explained Mayor Soever. “The task force will be considering a variety of initiatives to ensure that both business owners and residents are supported through these difficult and uncertain times.”
“As a tourism and service-oriented community, I would like to assure everyone that the Town and various community partners are laying the groundwork to ensure that our community will continue to thrive as a tourism-friendly destination once the immediate threat of COVID-19 has passed and when it is safe to do so,” stated Mayor Soever. “The Town is committed to working with all partners to ensure that appropriate measures, actions and resources are implemented as required.”
