Notice- Soft Launch of Paid Parking Pilot Project Starting This Weekend

The purpose of this press release is to provide an update regarding the status of the paid parking pilot project that is being implemented by The Town of The Blue Mountains.

The paid parking pilot project will be soft-launched this weekend, with the formal launch scheduled for mid-August. The soft launch will allow the opportunity to provide public education and for Town staff to test the software. As part of the soft launch, residents and visitors can expect to see on site signage installed at the four paid parking locations, which include: Northwinds Beach, Peasemarsh Beach, Lora Bay Park and the Thornbury Harbour. Until the system is formally launched, paid parking will not be enforced.

All residents of the Town of The Blue Mountains will be permitted to park for free by either registering their license plate or by displaying the printed resident pass in their rearview mirror. Additional information will be provided by the Town when available, and the printed resident passes will be mailed to all taxpayers within the next two weeks.

A dedicated webpage has been created on the Town website to provide additional information, which can be viewed by visiting: www.thebluemountains.ca/paid-parking.cfm

The Town would like to emphasize that the Resident Pass does not allow for vehicles to be parked in ‘no parking’, ‘no stopping’ or ‘tow away’ zones. All normal parking rules must be followed.
