The Town of The Blue Mountains, and the Christmas Dinner Sub-Committee are excited to announce that the Christmas Dinner Drive-Thru event is now sold out with all 500 dinners being accounted for. Of the 500 dinners, 250 dinners have been purchased through generous donations by community members, with the other 250 dinners being distributed to those in need through the St. George’s Community Cares program.
“On behalf of the Town, and the community at large, I would like to extend gratitude to everyone who contributed a donation to purchase a dinner. Every dinner that was purchased through donation has helped fund and provide a dinner to those in need this holiday season”, said Mayor Alar Soever. “This initiative is another great example of the strength of our community and how we can all work to support each other through challenging times.”

About the Community Recovery Task Force
As an immediate response to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Town of The Blue Mountains formed a Community Recovery Taskforce comprised of a diverse collection of local service clubs, groups, organizations and associations. Meeting regularly to discuss and address concerns and impacts, the composition of the task force has provided a robust level of insight and experience to help navigate through the difficulties of the pandemic.
About the Christmas Dinner Sub-Committee
The Christmas Dinner Committee is a sub-committee of the Community Recovery Task Force. Comprised of members of Council, ministerial representatives, community organizations and committee representatives. The sub-committee has been responsible for the planning, coordination and implementation efforts for the Christmas Drive-Thru Dinner event.
