WHEREAS, each year on November 22, the Town observes National Housing Day to help raise awareness of the need for more affordable homes for residents; and
WHEREAS the Town recognizes that safe, adequate and affordable housing is essential to the inherent dignity and well-being of a person and is necessary for building sustainable, inclusive and complete communities; and
WHEREAS the Town commits to working with the Provincial and Federal government to continue to increase the supply of new housing to ensure that everyone has a safe place to call home; and
WHEREAS the Town's continued efforts on attainable and affordable housing will benefit its residents, economy, and the environment;
THEREFORE, I, Andrea Matrosovs, Mayor of the Town of The Blue Mountains, do hereby proclaim Wednesday, November 22 as National Housing Day.
