WHEREAS Waste Reduction Week is a national environmental campaign that builds awareness around the importance of sustainability, waste reduction and responsible consumption as key components of transitioning to a circular economy; and
WHEREAS the loss of waste to disposal and littering is a local and global threat to the environment; and
WHEREAS the Town of The Blue Mountains is a community that highly values the environment and the continued stewardship of our local natural assets; and
WHEREAS the Town of The Blue Mountains is committed to waste reduction, resource conservation, and community education for sustainable living.
NOW THEREFORE I, Andrea Matrosovs, Mayor of the Town of The Blue Mountains, do hereby proclaim October 20-24, 2025, as Waste Reduction Week in the Town of The Blue Mountains.
