The Town of The Blue Mountains is advising residents that the Landfill will close today, Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. due to deteriorating air quality conditions.
Limited Landfill staff will remain on site until 12:00 p.m. to receive waste loads. After that time, the Landfill will be closed for the remainder of the day. Curbside waste collection is not impacted and will continue as scheduled.
The Town is continuing to monitor air quality conditions and assess their impact on outdoor operations. Appropriate precautions will be taken to protect the health and safety of Town staff working outdoors. There may be additional impacts to Town service levels due to conditions. Further updates will be provided if conditions change.
