Launched in September 2017 100 Women Who Care South Georgian Triangle are celebrating the beginning of their 2nd year. With over 190 members, 4 charities have benefited to a total amount of over $60,000.
The charities we have supported in the past year are:
- Barbara Weider House, Home Horizons
- Salvation Army
- Victim Services
- Events for Life
At our September 26th meeting we celebrated our success with music, cake, wine and camaraderie.
Events for Life was the recipient of our June meeting and Kathy Dewling, a board member from Events for Life talked about the program where our donations are making an impact on a new program being launched for respite and living options. They accepted a cheque for $17,100.
We heard excellent presentations from Theatre Collingwood, and Beaver Valley Outreach and ultimately selected Society of St Vincent de Paul, where our donation will support those in need for another year.
Our next meeting will be November 28th at the Legion, 490 Ontario St, Collingwood. The Legion generously donates the use of their space for our meetings.
