Notice- Tourism Matters in The Town of The Blue Mountains

In partnership with Grey County Tourism, local tourism providers, and neighbouring municipalities the Town of The Blue Mountains is proud to be celebrating Canadian Tourism Week. The purpose of the celebration is to highlight the importance of tourism throughout all Grey County communities and across Canada through showcasing world-class tourism attractions, beautiful natural landscapes, and local experiences.

Coordinated by the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC), Tourism Week is a national grassroots initiative that brings attention to the economic, social and cultural opportunities available to Canada, Grey County, and the Town of The Blue Mountains through travel and tourism.

“Tourism is an important part of our community and local economy,” explained Mayor Alar Soever. “Tourism Week is a great opportunity to reflect and celebrate upon the significant role that tourism plays in contributing to our community”.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to participate and share their own tourism experiences, stories and pictures on social media by using the hashtag #TourismMattersInGrey. Photos and posts can include any tourism-related images such as your favourite tourism friendly businesses, attractions, events, natural sites and hidden gems throughout the community.

“On behalf of Council, I would like to extend my gratitude and appreciation to all tourism providers and tourism-related businesses within the community. I would also like to thank residents and business owners for fostering a welcoming and positive community environment for visitors to experience and enjoy” explained Mayor Soever.
