Temporary Road Closure - Brophys Lane - August 11, 2025

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public of an upcoming temporary road closure. Brophys Lane will be closed to all traffic west of 229 Brophys Lane on Monday, August 11, 2025 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. This closure is to allow the Town's Water Division to complete a repair to a curb stop. Impacted properties will be provided with written notice.

Temporary Lane Restrictions - Bay Street East & Grey Street North - Beginning July 30, 2025

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public of upcoming temporary lane restrictions. Temporary lane restrictions will be in place on Bay Street East, from the dead end at the Beaver River to the Elgin Street North intersection, and at the intersection of Bay Street East and Grey Street North in Thornbury beginning July 30, 2025. The work is expected to take approximately 4 weeks.

Temporary Lane Restriction - Victoria Street South - July 10-11, 2025

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public of an upcoming temporary lane restriction. Restrictions will be in place on Victoria Street South at Duncan Street in Thornbury on July 10 and 11, 2025. This is to allow the Beaver River Watershed Initiative to complete necessary tree removals around the Little Beaver River.

Temporary Lane and Road Closures - Arthur & Elma Street - June 24, 2025

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public of ongoing temporary lane restrictions and road closures in Thornbury to allow the Town's Water Division to repair a watermain break. The westbound lane of Arthur Street West (Highway 26) will be closed at Elma Street, and Elma Street North will be closed between Arthur Street and King Street on June 24, 2025. Local traffic can access Elma Street from King Street. Water will be shut down in the area while the repair is made. Staff have gone door to door to notify impacted properties.

Service Impacts of Upcoming Water Tower Inspection

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise residents that the Victoria Street water tower will be offline beginning Thursday, June 19, to allow for an inspection of the rehabilitation work completed in 2023. 

Properties connected to municipal water between 39th Sideroad and Arrowhead Road may experience lower water pressure and minor water discolouration while this work is being completed. If you experience water discolouration, please let your faucets run until clarity is restored. The water tower will be returned back to service in mid-July. 

2025 Sidewalk Inspections Upcoming Throughout Town

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public that sidewalk inspections are scheduled to be conducted throughout the Town beginning Sunday, June 1, 2025.

The inspections will be completed utilizing scooter-mounted sensing technology by StreetScan Inc. The sensors identify trip hazards, cracks and other obstructions on sidewalks and walkways. Inspections will be taking place on priority and secondary sidewalks.
