Service Impacts of Upcoming Water Tower Inspection

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise residents that the Victoria Street water tower will be offline beginning Thursday, June 19, to allow for an inspection of the rehabilitation work completed in 2023. 

Properties connected to municipal water between 39th Sideroad and Arrowhead Road may experience lower water pressure and minor water discolouration while this work is being completed. If you experience water discolouration, please let your faucets run until clarity is restored. The water tower will be returned back to service in mid-July. 

2025 Sidewalk Inspections Upcoming Throughout Town

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public that sidewalk inspections are scheduled to be conducted throughout the Town beginning Sunday, June 1, 2025.

The inspections will be completed utilizing scooter-mounted sensing technology by StreetScan Inc. The sensors identify trip hazards, cracks and other obstructions on sidewalks and walkways. Inspections will be taking place on priority and secondary sidewalks.

Temporary Lane Restrictions - Bay Street East & Grey Street South - Beginning May 26, 2025

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public of upcoming temporary lane restrictions. Intermittent lane restrictions will be in place on Bay Street East and Grey Street South in Thornbury beginning May 26, 2025. Work on Bay Street is expected to take 3-4 weeks, and will be followed by the work on Grey Street.

Temporary Lane Restriction - Arthur Street West - May 20-30, 2025

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public of ongoing temporary lane restrictions. Lane restrictions will be in place on Arthur Street West in Thornbury from May 20-30, 2025. This is to allow a contractor to complete hydro pole upgrades on behalf of EPCOR.

2025 Spring Fire Hydrant Flushing

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise residents who are supplied with Municipal water that the annual flushing of fire hydrants and watermains is currently underway.

Residents may experience lower water pressure and minor water discolouration while this work is being completed. If you experience water discolouration, please let your faucets run until clarity is restored. Flushing is expected to be completed by late June or early July.
