The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public of an upcoming temporary lane restriction. Drivers will be required to yield to oncoming traffic in the area of 121 Wensley Street on Wednesday, July 3. This is to allow the Town's Water Division to complete a leak repair. The work will be completed on Thursday, July 4 in the event of inclement weather.

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public that surface treatment road work will be conducted on various rural and urban roads beginning in late July. Partial lane closures will be in effect during construction. Work is anticipated to be completed by mid-August.

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public of an upcoming temporary lane restriction. There will intermittent lane closures in place at the Clarksburg Bridge on Marsh Street on Wednesday, June 19 from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This is to allow Grey County to complete inspections and/or work on the bridge.

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public that sidewalk inspections are scheduled to be conducted throughout the Town beginning Friday, June 7, 2024.

The inspections will be completed utilizing scooter-mounted sensing technology by StreetScan Inc. The sensors identify trip hazards, cracks and other obstructions on sidewalks and walkways. Inspections will be taking place on priority and secondary sidewalks.

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise residents that a Request for Proposals (RFP) process is currently underway seeking a consultant to support the design and construction of the New Craigleith Fire Hall #2. The deadline for completed RFPs was May 30, 2024. Award of the contract is expected in late June or early July.

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise residents that watering restrictions come into effect on June 1, 2024. The restrictions will remain in place until September 1, 2024.

The Town of The Blue Mountains has initiated a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) to complete a Wastewater Master Plan. This study is being conducted according to the requirements of Phases 1 and 2 of the MCEA process which is an approved process under the Environmental Assessment Act.

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public of its annual Wild Chervil Management Strategy. 

The Town has shifted to a reactive approach to managing wild chervil that will rely on spot spraying and shared stewardship with the public. If residents identify wild chervil within the road allowance fronting their property they are asked to either cut the wild chervil themselves before it goes to seed, or contact the Town's Operations Department to arrange a spot spraying treatment. Residents no longer have to opt out of pesticide spraying.

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public that all half-load restrictions on Town-owned roads within the Town will be lifted as of Monday, April 15. Town crews will be removing signs on Monday morning. Roads are vulnerable to heavy vehicle damage in the early spring when frost is leaving the ground; load restrictions help to minimize the damage. 

All reduced load restrictions on Grey County-owned roads will also be lifted for the season as of Monday, April 15, 2024.
