Reduced Load Restrictions in Effect March 1, 2024

Please be advised that half-load restrictions come into effect on March 1, 2024 for a variety of roads within the Town of The Blue Mountains, pursuant to By-Law No. 2010-54. Where Axle Weight Restrictions signs are in place, the By-Law is in full force and effect.

Half-load restrictions may be extended beyond May 31, 2024, depending on weather and road conditions. A detailed map has been produced to highlight the impacted roads. The roads highlighted in red are subject to half-load restrictions when Axle Weight Restrictions signs are in place. 

2024 Family Day Town Hall Office Closure & Waste Collection

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise residents of upcoming service changes due to the Family Day Holiday. 

Town Hall

Town Hall will be closed on Monday, February 19, 2024 for Family Day. Town Hall will re-open with regular hours on Tuesday, February 20.

Family Day Activities

The Town is pleased to offer public skating at the Beaver Valley Community Centre on Monday, February 19. Skating is $3.00 per person and available at the following times:

Temporary Lane Restriction - Bay Street West - January 30, 2024

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public of a temporary lane restriction. A single lane will be closed in the area of 56 Bay Street West in Thornbury on Tuesday, January 30. This is to allow Enbridge Gas to complete a gas line repair.

Notice of Completion - Craigleith Wastewater Treatment Plant Sewage Pumping Station Environmental Assessment

The Town of the Blue Mountains (Town) has completed a Schedule B Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) for the Sanitary Lift Station, Associated Inlet Trunk Sewer and the Septage Receiving Station Relocation alternatives. The purpose of the EA study was to determine the preferred approach to meet increasing sanitary flows at the Craigleith Sanitary Pumping Station and improve facility operations in terms of reliability, safety, noise and odour.

Temporary Road Closure - Bay Street East/Bayview Avenue - January 22, 2024

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public of an emergency temporary road closure. The closure will be in place from 194 Bay Street East to 149 Bayview Avenue in Thornbury on Monday, January 22. This closure is due to a water service leak repair.

Temporary Lane Restriction - Peel Street North - December 7-8, 2023

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public of a temporary lane restriction. A single lane will be closed in the area of 210-212 Peel Street North in Thornbury on Thursday, December 7 and Friday, December 8. This is to allow Enbridge Gas to complete an emergency repair.
