Poison Ivy Spraying - Arrowhead Road - Week of July 31, 2023

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public of upcoming herbicide application to control the growth of poison ivy on Town roads. Spot spraying will be happening along Arrowhead Road between Margaret Drive and Craigleith Road during the week of July 31, 2023. Application will be completed by licensed staff from Eagles Weed Control and Lawn Service.

Temporary Lane Restriction - Highway 26 and Bruce Street - July 27, 2023

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public of upcoming temporary lane restrictions. Grey County will be making repairs to the traffic lights and northbound lane road surface at the intersection of Highway 26 and Bruce Street in Thornbury on July 27, 2023. The traffic lights will be put on to a fixed time interval while the repairs are being made.

Construction Notice - Fibre Optic Internet Installation - July 20, 2023

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public of ongoing construction activity in multiple locations throughout the community. On behalf of Rogers Communications, HDP Network Solutions Inc. will be installing fibre-to-the-home services in various locations including portions of Sunset Boulevard, Christie Beach Road, The Blue Mountains - Meaford Townline, 6th Line, 10th Line, 12th Sideroad and The Blue Mountains - Euphrasia Townline. This work will include temporary lane closures at times with traffic control measures in place.

Temporary Lane Restriction - Arthur Street West - June 19-21, 2023

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public of an upcoming temporary lane restriction. The eastbound lane of Arthur Street West at Elma Street in Thornbury will be restricted daily from June 19-21 to allow Arnott Construction to tie in underground services for Elma Street.

Town Wins Water Taste Challenge at Georgian Bay Waterworks Conference

The Town of The Blue Mountains Water and Wastewater Division is excited to announce that the Town was awarded with first place in the Drinking Water Taste Challenge at the Spring 2023 Georgian Bay Waterworks Conference held at Deerhurst Resort on April 27, 2023.

Drinking water samples were submitted by five municipalities, and conference attendees voted for the best tasting water in a blind taste test competition. The Town was rewarded with a free one year membership in the Georgian Bay Waterworks Association.

2023 Sidewalk Inspections Upcoming Throughout Town

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public that sidewalk inspections are scheduled to be conducted throughout the Town beginning Tuesday, May 30, 2023.

The inspections will be completed utilizing a golf cart by Cleancrete Cutting Ltd., to identify trip hazards, cracks and other obstructions on sidewalks and walkways throughout the impacted areas. Inspections will be taking place on priority and secondary sidewalks.
