On behalf of the owners, 1382491 Ontario Ltd. & Blevins Developments (Cove) Ltd., the Town of The Blue Mountains would like to inform all area residents and landowners within The Cottages development that the watermain will be shut off from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm either Wednesday, May 26 or Thursday, May 27, 2022 to complete underground watermain works for The Cottages at Lora Bay Phase 5 project within the Cottages development, which is located at the southeast corner of Beacon Drive and Sunset Boulevard intersection.

Town Hall

Town Hall will be closed on Monday, May 23. Town Hall will re-open with regular hours on Tuesday, May 24.

The Town of The Blue Mountains is pleased to announce that the Town has received a $3.4 million grant from the federal and provincial governments to support the replacement of substandard watermain.

The Town of The Blue Mountains is providing this notice to rural residents to advise that the annual noxious weed control program to manage Wild Chervil will begin Wednesday, May 11, 2022. Under the Weed Control Act, the Town is required to control Wild Chervil. The pesticide application will be conducted by a licensed technician and only applied to roadside areas that appear visually unkept and where there is evidence of Wild Chervil.

As of May 2, 2022, the Axle Weight Restrictions will be lifted in the Town's urban areas only. Please be advised that half load restrictions are still in place for the rural gravel roads, pursuant to By-law 2010-54.

The Town of the Blue Mountains would like to advise residents that cart collection, and curbside garbage and recycling collection will occur as usual on Friday, April 15 and Monday, April 18, and for the remainder of the week.

Reminders for residents:

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public of a temporary road closure and water service interruption on Tuesday, March 8, 2022. Alice Street West will be closed from Baring Street to Beaver Street S to allow the Water Division to repair a water service. Road closure signs will be in place after the school bus goes through.

The Town would like to advise residents that water service may be shut off or users may experience low water pressure in the affected area.

The Town of The Blue Mountains has closed its Landfill & Recycling Depot due to high winds.

The site will reopen on Saturday, December 18th at 8 am.

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to provide residents with information related to the pump failure that happened last week at the Craigleith Wastewater Pumping Station as a result of the excessive rainfall. The Town’s wastewater and stormwater sewers are nominally separated systems and Town staff suspect that pumping station capacity was exceeded due to inflow and infiltration through unauthorized connections or other breaches in the wastewater system. A thorough investigation into the causes of this event is being conducted.
