The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to provide notice to rural residents of changes to the Town’s annual Wild Chervil Management Strategy.

In response to the new province-wide Blue Box Regulation, the Town of The Blue Mountains would like to provide advanced notice to non-residential properties regarding changes to curbside blue box collection services that will be implemented starting October 1, 2023.

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to remind all residents that Christmas tree collection is scheduled for the week of January 2-6, 2023. Residents are asked to place their trees at the curb with the rest of their garbage and recycling on their regular day of collection. Only bare trees will be picked up (no plastic bags or decorations).

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public of an upcoming Public Information Centre that has been scheduled regarding the Craigleith Wastewater Treatment Plant Sewage Pumping Station Environmental Assessment.

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public of an upcoming temporary lane restriction. The south lane between 194 and 198 Cameron Street in Thornbury will be restricted on Tuesday, December 20, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to allow the Town's Water Department to make a repair to the water distribution system. One lane will be maintained for access at all times. 

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public of crosswalk painting occurring overnight on Wednesday, September 14, 2022. 

Three crosswalks will be painted at:

• Beaver Valley Community School Crossing (Bruce Street South)
• Bruce Street North and Highway 26
• Jozo Weider Boulevard and Village Crescent

Minimal disruption to vehicle traffic is expected. In the event of inclement weather, work will be completed on Thursday, September 15, 2022.

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public of upcoming leak detection work being completed in the area of Swiss Meadows. Town Staff have recently become aware of significant water loss from the Swiss Meadows Private Water System, and have engaged a Water Loss Consultant to identify the precise locations of the leaks. Access to private property will be required to complete the detection work. When the Town has a better understanding of the exact location of the potential leaks, Town Staff will be in contact with homeowners to develop a repair plan.
