The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise residents that gravel road maintenance work has started and will be completed on various Town roads throughout the month of June. This work is being conducted as part of the Town’s annual road maintenance program.
The Town of The Blue Mountains Water and Wastewater Division is excited to announce that the Town was awarded with first place in the Drinking Water Taste Challenge at the Spring 2023 Georgian Bay Waterworks Conference held at Deerhurst Resort on April 27, 2023.
Drinking water samples were submitted by five municipalities, and conference attendees voted for the best tasting water in a blind taste test competition. The Town was rewarded with a free one year membership in the Georgian Bay Waterworks Association.
The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public that a contractor is currently completing a comprehensive Leak Detection Review to identify leaks throughout the Town's water distribution system.
Residents are advised that there may be temporary lane restrictions while the work is being completed. No significant impact to traffic is anticipated.
The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise residents that watering restrictions come into effect on June 1, 2023. The restrictions will remain in place until September 1, 2023.
The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to notify the public of an important change to a traffic pattern within Thornbury. Lansdowne Street South between Louisa Street and Alice Street is now a One-Way southbound route. Signage has been installed indicating this change in pattern.

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public that sidewalk inspections are scheduled to be conducted throughout the Town beginning Tuesday, May 30, 2023.
The inspections will be completed utilizing a golf cart by Cleancrete Cutting Ltd., to identify trip hazards, cracks and other obstructions on sidewalks and walkways throughout the impacted areas. Inspections will be taking place on priority and secondary sidewalks.
The Town of the Blue Mountains would like to provide residents with an update regarding the water meter upgrade program. Approved through the 2022 budget, the water meter upgrade program aims to reduce water loss and increase efficiencies for Town staff and residents. There is no charge for the meter or the installation.
The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public of updates to the paid parking program and fee structures for Municipal Parking Lots that were put into effect through the approval of the 2023 Town Budget.
New for 2023, the Town is introducing Non-Resident Parking Passes. These passes are available to residents of the Municipality of Meaford, Grey Highlands, Clearview Township and the Town of Collingwood. The cost is $100 +HST for each registered licence plate.
The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public of an upcoming temporary lane restriction. The westbound lane at 107 Hoover Lane in Camperdown will be restricted on Tuesday, May 9, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to allow the Town's Water Department to make a repair to a curb stop. One lane will be maintained for access at all times.
