The Craigleith Heritage Depot, The Blue Mountains Public Library, and The Town of the Blue Mountain presents Open Doors: A Blue Mountains Heritage Tour on Sunday June 7th, from 10am to 3:30pm.
Discover our history this Spring with Open Doors, a free community heritage tour.
Visitors are invited to step back in time and experience local history firsthand through self-guided and guided tours across six heritage locations, featuring educational exhibits, storytelling sessions, archival resources, and opportunities to learn about the labor, ingenuity, and preservation efforts that keep our region’s history alive.
"We are delighted to offer public access and tours to several of our most unique local landmarks," says Alessia Farris, Curator at the Craigleith Heritage Depot. "Our goal is to spotlight our community's historic past and share the stories that shaped us."
Echoing this sentiment, Mayor Andrea Matrosovs highlights the tour as a meaningful way to connect with the community: “The Heritage Tour is an exciting opportunity to explore our community and revisit our history. I encourage the public to join us for this great event and take the time to learn about The Blue Mountains’ past.”
Representatives from the Craigleith Heritage Depot and the Blue Mountains Public Library will be on site at each location throughout the day to provide guided tours, share local historical insights, and answer questions about the heritage sites and their significance within our community.
Tour times are 10–11:30am, 12–1:30pm, and 2–3:30pm.
