The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to provide an update regarding the updated Accessibility Multi-Year Plan and the 2019 Accessibility Progress Report.
Multi-Year Accessibility Plan
The Multi-Year Accessibility Plan outlines the Town’s accomplishments and commitments over the next five years in meeting the Accessibility Standards in five key areas including Customer Service, Information and Communication, Employment, Transportation and Design of Public Spaces. The plan was created by the Town of The Blue Mountains staff in consultation with the Grey County Joint Accessibility Advisory Committee.
2019 Accessibility Progress Report
The 2019 Progress Report is the Town’s annual update on the progress of measures taken to improve accessibility and implement the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) and the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (Ontario Regulation 191/11). This Progress Report includes the accessibility initiatives that were completed in 2019 to implement the strategies outlined in the Town’s Multi-Year Accessibility Plan as adopted by the Town of The Blue Mountains Council on September 30, 2019.
In addition, the accessibility page on the Town website has been updated to include Provincial resource guides to assist festivals and events, and small businesses on accessibility best practices and standards.
