The Town is pleased to announce that local resident, Bill Abbotts has been selected as the recipient of the 2021 Province of Ontario Senior of the Year Award for the Town of The Blue Mountains.
Established in 1994, the Senior of the Year Award honours one outstanding local senior in each municipality in Ontario. The nominee must be over the age of 65 and have enriched the social, cultural or civic life of his or her community.
“Known locally as a community builder, outstanding volunteer, and cycling enthusiast, Bill has worked hard to contribute to the growth and prosperity of The Blue Mountains community,” explained Mayor Alar Soever. “On behalf of Council and the entire Town of The Blue Mountains community, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Bill for his amazing contributions and congratulate Bill on this well-deserved and exciting achievement.”
