The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to inform nearby residents that Frazil Ice is forming in the Beaver River due to the recent cold temperatures.
Staff are closely monitoring the river and assessing the risk of flooding. In the event of a blockage, the Town has contracted for long reach heavy equipment to remove frazil ice as the Town has done in the past years.
A notice has been issued directly to property owners adjacent to the Thornbury Mill Pond that may be affected by flooding for their awareness.
