Notice- Playground Equipment Reopened & Little River Beach Update

The purpose of this press release is to provide an update regarding the status of playground equipment and the beach area at Little River Park.

On Monday, July 13, the Province of Ontario announced Stage 3 of the reopening plan, which included the reopening playground equipment. Changes for Stage 3 were permitted to begin on Friday, July 17. Last week, Town staff performed the required maintenance and safety inspections prior to reopening the playground equipment.

All playground equipment at Town parks, greenspaces, beaches and recreational areas are now open for public use with the exception of Little River Park.

The Town would like to emphasize that the equipment will not be sanitized. Please ensure that children wash their hands before and after use, and maintain physical distancing following public health recommendations, which can be viewed online by visiting: https://www.publichealthgreybruce.on.ca/

In addition, Town crews are working diligently to reopen the beach at Little River Park as soon as possible. Contractors will be completing shoreline restoration and repair work over the next week. Notice of reopening will be posted to the newsroom on the Town website. The Town would like to thank residents for their patience & understanding.

To help provide clarification and consistent messaging the Town would like to remind residents that an interactive map confirming the open/closed status of parks, trails, greenspaces, beaches and recreational areas within the Town of The Blue Mountains is available on the Town website by visiting: https://www.thebluemountains.ca/covid-19-open-and-closed.cfm
