The Town would like to advise residents that on Monday of this week, Grey-Bruce, including the Town of The Blue Mountains, was moved to the Yellow Stage of the Provincial COVID-19 Framework.
In addition, the Town would like to highlight that the neighbouring region of Simcoe County has been moved from the Yellow Stage into the Orange Stage. Although this does not directly impact the Town of The Blue Mountains, it is important for residents to be aware of the heightened concern and restrictions within Simcoe County.
Specific to the Town of The Blue Mountains, the shift to the Yellow Stage for Grey-Bruce means greater restrictions and enhanced education and enforcement to help stop the spread of COVID-19 within the community. Full details regarding restrictions in the Yellow Stage can be found on the following page of the Province’s website: https://www.ontario.ca/page/covid-19-response-framework-keeping-ontario-safe-and-open#yellow
The Grey Bruce Public Health Unit has posted an information page to their website outlining the shift from the Green Stage to the Yellow Stage. Residents are encouraged to visit the Health Unit website or to contact the Health Unit for all COVID-19 related questions and inquiries: www.publichealthgreybruce.on.ca
“Since the new Provincial Framework was introduced, Grey-Bruce and The Town of The Blue Mountains has been in the Green Stage, which is the lowest of the five stages,” explained Mayor Alar Soever. “The shift into the Yellow Stage is a strong indicator that COVID-19 data is trending upwards and that we need to be more careful and vigilant than ever.”
