The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise residents that the public consultation period has been extended to 1:00 pm on Friday, December 11, 2020, for the Community Improvement Plan project.
The Community Improvement Plan (CIP) project has considered opportunities for the Town to administer grants or loans to encourage private sector investment in attainable housing as well as updates to the existing Commercial Core CIP. Following public consultation initiatives which included a public survey, stakeholder discussions, a stakeholder workshop, a public open house, and a statutory public meeting, two new CIPs have been prepared: the Housing Within Reach CIP and the Town Wide Revitalization CIP. These CIPs were reviewed by Committee of the Whole on December 1, 2020.
Residents are encouraged to review the Community Improvement Plans and to share their feedback and comments by email to CIP@thebluemountains.ca.
Following the extended consultation period, the Community Improvement Plan Project Team will review the comments received and will make any appropriate refinements that need to be made to the Community Improvement Plans. It is anticipated that final revised versions of the Housing Within Reach CIP and the Town Wide Revitalization CIP will be presented to Council for adoption on January 11, 2021.
