The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise residents of Public Information Sessions for Phase 1 of the Official Plan Review. The Public Information Sessions will be offered through two in-person events.
The Public Information Sessions will be held at Town Hall and the Craigleith Community Centre during the first week of June, and the Town welcomes all members of the public to attend and learn about Phase 1 of the Official Plan Review. Pre-registration for the meeting is available online.

Two identical sessions are being held to discuss Phase 1 of the project. The topics include:
- Vision, Guiding Principles, Goals and Objectives
- Growth Management
- Density and Height
- Housing
A brief presentation will be provided on the background research completed to date and the identified opportunities to enhance the Official Plan. Staff and Committee members will be pleased to discuss and answer any questions you may have.
Information about the Official Plan Review including information to be discussed at the Public Information Session is available for viewing on the project webpage at www.tbmblueprint.ca. Additional information to be presented at the Public Information Session will be available on the Town's website on May 20, 2022.
About the Official Plan Review
The Official Plan guides all future land-use decisions in the Town, including residential and commercial development, the type of permitted housing, density and intensification standards, and how agricultural and natural features will be protected. The Ontario Planning Act requires that a Municipality regularly update their Official Plan to remain current with County and Provincial planning documents, and to provide an opportunity to update the Plan with recent municipal direction, approved plans and other policies.
