Notice- The Town Reminds Residents and Visitors to Remain Vigilant Against COVID-19

In an effort to keep the community safe, the Town would like to remind residents and visitors to remain vigilant in the battle against COVID-19.

Earlier this week, Grey Bruce and the Town of The Blue Mountains were moved into the Yellow Stage of the Provincial framework, which allowed businesses to reopen for in-person service. In an effort to keep the community safe, the Town would like to remind residents and visitors to remain vigilant in the battle against COVID-19.

The public is reminded that the Town’s Mandatory Face Covering By-law continues to be in effect. Under the By-law, a mask or face covering must be worn inside all public establishments and enclosed public spaces within the Town’s municipal boundary. In addition, businesses in the Town have continued to implement enhanced safety measures to protect all customers. Please look for storefront signage when entering businesses and respect all business-specific public health safety measures.

“While we continue to make progress in the fight against COVID-19 in the Town of The Blue Mountains, it is important to remember that the virus is an urgent threat in our community,” says Mayor Alar Soever. “We must continue to fight COVID-19 through collective action and by following all public health guidelines including keeping visits to those within your household, washing your hands regularly, wearing a mask and staying at home whenever possible.”

Alongside wearing a mask or face covering, members of the public are reminded to follow other current public health guidelines including: avoiding unnecessary travel or travelling outside of your community, limiting contact to only those in your household, practicing physical distancing of at least 2 metres, and washing your hands regularly with soap or sanitizer for at least 20 seconds.
