The Town of The Blue Mountains is excited to announce the launch of a new agricultural event this fall called “Open Fields: The Blue Mountains Farm Tour”.

The free, self-guided farm tour will give participants a chance to visit a variety of farms throughout the community, meet local producers, and learn firsthand about the processes and work that goes into bringing food from farm to table. This free, family-friendly event is scheduled for Saturday, September 30, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., rain or shine.

Each farm location will provide different activities. Some farms will have educational tours, workshops and demonstrations, while others will be offering vendors, live entertainment and fun family activities.

The participating farm locations are as follows:

  • TK Ferri Orchards
  • The Farmer's Pantry
  • Georgian Hills Vineyards
  • Silver Springs Farms
  • Kimber Valley Farms (This location opens to the public at 11 a.m.)

More information regarding what is offered at each location is available on the Open Fields website.

“This event is a true celebration of our local agricultural community,” says Mayor Andrea Matrosovs. “We thank our producers for welcoming the public onto their property, and we’re excited for residents and visitors to experience and learn about farming and agricultural practices firsthand.”

Open Fields is a free, rain-or-shine event that is open to all members of the public. Visitors are encouraged to wear proper footwear for a day on the farm.
