The Town of The Blue Mountains is excited to share that the Open Fields Farm Tour will return for its third year on Saturday, September 27, 2025.
This free, family-friendly event offers a behind-the-scenes look at local agriculture, giving visitors an opportunity to connect with farmers, explore modern farming practices and learn more about how food makes it way from the field to the table. The self-guided tour will run from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and features a variety of engaging experiences.
New this year, the Town of The Blue Mountains has partnered with the Municipality of Meaford to expand the Open Fields tour and highlight additional producers across Grey County.
Each participating farm will offer something unique, from educational tours and hands-on workshops to demonstrations, family activities, live entertainment and local vendors. The full list of tour locations will be announced soon.
“Open Fields is a fantastic experience for all ages to celebrate and support our local agriculture community,” says Mayor Andrea Matrosovs. “With new locations and experiences planned for this year’s tour, including our partnership with Meaford, I encourage everyone to join us on Saturday, September 27, for a full day of exploration, learning and fun on the farm.”
Open Fields is a free, rain-or-shine event that is open to all members of the public. Visitors are encouraged to wear proper footwear for a day on the farm.
