TBM Repair Café

On the 4th Saturday of every month (except July, August and December) 9am-noon area residents have the opportunity to bring their broken items to the Repair Café, where community volunteers use their skills to help repair them for free. We also share some social time, with coffee or a nice cup of tea and cookies. This adventure not only brings our community together to help our neighbours, it also lengthens the life of the items repaired/mended, diverts items going to our landfill and saves taxpayers money!

The Story Workshop: Generate and Develop Your Creative Writing

Join Katie Zdybel for a six-month writing studio course focusing on literary fiction. The course follows a “Writing Studio” format, where each class will include a lesson, a reading assignment, and a workshop of student work. Writers of all levels, working on or beginning a fiction manuscript (short or long form), will benefit from this immersive, hands-on experience.

Kids Can - S'more Bites

Our Kids Can program is back, and we’re starting the new year on a sweet note! Join us as we make delicious S’more Bites—a warm treat that’s as fun to create as it is to eat. Young chefs will get hands-on experience measuring, scooping, stirring, and baking using a toaster oven. Along the way, they’ll build confidence in the kitchen while learning basic cooking and baking skills. Registration is required.  Ages: 8 and up.

TALK: Iceland - A Ring Road Journey

Michael (Mike) Arkless invites you to experience a breathtaking journey through Iceland via the Icelandic Ring Road.

The Icelandic Ring Road, also known as Route #1, is a national road that runs all around the country, connecting major towns and cities. The road is a little over 1300km long, making it the longest road in Iceland. 

After School Hip Hop

Looking for an awesome after-school activity that’s fun and affordable? Join us at the L.E. Shore Library for After-School Hip Hop with Sharin Elizabeth Dance! This energetic, four-week hip-hop series happens every Thursday from 3:30-4:30 pm in the Gallery, perfect for kids ready to groove and learn some new moves. The full four weeks is just $50 per child, making it a great, budget-friendly way to keep the kids active and engaged. Remember to bring some water and a clean pair of running shoes. Ages 10+

These free events will be informal, with no set agenda. Coffee, tea and light breakfast snacks will be available, and attendees have the opportunity to talk with Council members. Members of the public are encouraged to attend, and registration is not required.
