On Sunday, May 3, drop by The Gallery at the L.E. Shore Library between 2-4pm for a relaxed art pop up with Beverley Smith, featuring new work from her third year at the La Macina Di San Cresci artist residency in Italy.
This is a casual pop-up art show, where you can ask me about the residence and my work. I am amazed how inspirational I find working in Tuscany. I feel my work has evolved quickly in this environment, and I look forward to sharing with you the results of these magical months.
Grab your friends and family and join the Climate Action Now Network and Beaver Valley Outreach for this year’s TBM Earth Week Clean-Up. Let’s go green for Blue!
If you aren't able to make the scheduled time, you can pick up a special garbage bag from Town Hall and complete your clean up anytime during Earth Week, April 19-25. All registered efforts will be included in the final tally collection for the event.
Step away from the panoramic and take a closer look at the familiar in a new exhibition by Bonnie Hastings and Wanda Haayen. From the bold, intricate details of a flower petal to a garden caught in late afternoon light, their work reflects the quiet beauty of small moments.
The Big Cheese Smackdown: a friendly but serious grilled sammie smackdown is back! Bringing together the most creative culinary minds in our area to compete in the cheesiest challenge of the year. Each sandwich is a unique creation, limited only by the chef's imagination and the basic rule: it's gotta be a grilled cheese.
Brighten your summer with a visit to the Thornbury Flower Market, a brand-new outdoor market located in the Hester Street Parkette on Bruce Street South, brimming with freshly cut blooms. Held one Saturday a month on May 31, June 28, July 26, August 23, and September 20, this small yet vibrant event features 3-5 carefully selected artisans and local flower growers.
While you’re picking the perfect bouquet, make a day of it by exploring the charming boutiques, cozy cafes, and inviting restaurants that make Thornbury’s downtown so special.
Since 2007, supporters around the world have been switching off for Earth Hour each year. For 2026, people are encouraged to go beyond the switch off – and give an hour for Earth too. Anyone, anywhere can take part by spending 60 minutes doing something - anything - positive for our planet. You can reconnect with nature, learn more about the environment, help restore our planet, or inspire others to take action. As long as we each use one hour to make meaningful impact, we can create the Biggest Hour for Earth together!
