Explore the stars through the lens of Indigenous astronomy! Join us for an evening of storytelling and cultural teachings as we learn about traditional constellations, celestial stories, and their deep connections to the land. Chris Vaughan, aka AstroGeoGuy, is trained in Indigenous astronomy, including alternative constellations and star lore from Ontario, Canada, and other world cultures. Weather permitting, we’ll head outside for guided stargazing.

This Easter weekend, discover the charm of Blue Mountain Village in full bloom. Wander through picturesque streets lined with shops full of seasonal finds, treat yourself to local flavours, and enjoy relaxing moments on sun-filled patios. From morning coffee to evening bites, the Village is made for slow strolls and spontaneous springtime discoveries. Add a dash of family fun with festive highlights like an Easter egg scavenger hunt, live music, and the lovable Barnyard Bonanza—just enough celebration to make your weekend extra special.

In celebration of her new solo exhibition at The Gallery at L.E. Shore, Beverley Smith invites you on a captivating journey to La Macina Di San Cresci, an artist residency in Tuscany, Italy. Beverley will share how she discovered the residency, her experiences living there, and the impact it had on her both artistically and personally. You'll also be treated to an insightful overview of her artistic evolution, as she reflects on each of her solo shows at The Gallery, from her first in 1996 through 1999, 2002, 2013, 2019, and now 2025!

The Blue Mountains Public Library has partnered with Vara Studios to offer a special pottery workshop, celebrating Earth Month! In this hands-on session, you’ll have the opportunity to build and decorate your own beautiful bud vase or herb stripper, perfect for showcasing your spring blooms (which are on their way, we promise) or for easily removing leaves and petals from your favorite herbs.

Community Assists Days is featuring Grey Bruce Community Legal Clinic at the April drop-in event. Grey Bruce Community Legal Clinic provides free legal services for low income residents. Stop by to learn about their Elder Law Project, and how they are supporting Housing Rights for Tenants.

Join Karen James (flute), with Ann-Marie MacDairmid (piano) and Kerri McGonigle (cello), for an enchanting musical evening featuring the compositions of Bach, Mozart, Mancini, and more.

At first listen, these pieces may seem unrelated, but for Karen, they are like old friends—each one offering comfort through challenging times and imparting valuable life lessons. In a time where much is uncertain, they provide an opportunity to contribute some beauty to the world.

Beverley Smith presents a new exhibit that dives into the excitement of creating and experimenting. Featuring vibrant mixed media works that fuse woven beadwork, paints, markers, and a whole lot of energetic scribbling.

Join us at the L.E. Shore Library for a heartwarming and interactive story time with children's author Elizabeth and her very special furry friend, Easton—a lovable rescue dog! Enjoy delightful stories, meet Easton, and share some cuddles. Elizabeth will also have copies of her book available for purchase. Don't miss this paws-itively wonderful event! Ages 0-5. Drop-in program.

Discover how scammers target seniors with fake emergencies and deceptive tactics. Ashley will share tips on how to recognize these scams and how grandparents can safeguard themselves from fraud.

Ashley will be available in the L.E. Shore Boardroom from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM for 15-minute drop-in sessions to assist with minor tech issues. For more complex problems that may require additional time, 1-hour tech help appointments are available four days a week.

Looking for a fun, free way to discover new books? Sign up for our Tween Lit Kits—a monthly surprise package just for tweens! Each kit includes a mystery book, some tasty treats, and a creative craft to enjoy. The best part? It’s completely free with your library card! Kits are available for pick-up on the first Tuesday of each month. Don’t miss out—register now! Spring session runs April 1st - June 3rd . Ages 12 and up.

These free events will be informal, with no set agenda. Coffee, tea and light breakfast snacks will be available, and attendees have the opportunity to talk with Council members. Members of the public are encouraged to attend, and registration is not required.

On the 4th Saturday of every month (except July, August and December) 9am-noon area residents have the opportunity to bring their broken items to the Repair Café, where community volunteers use their skills to help repair them for free. We also share some social time, with coffee or a nice cup of tea and cookies. This adventure not only brings our community together to help our neighbours, it also lengthens the life of the items repaired/mended, diverts items going to our landfill and saves taxpayers money!

The Climate Action Now Network rain barrel sale is on! Order yours before the sale closes April 20, 2025. Pick-up is Saturday, April 26 at the Beaver Valley Community Centre from 10am - 1pm.

Cost is $65/barrel.

Rain barrels include a leaf/mosquito filter, spigot and overflow hose. Various accessories are also available for purchase.
