Join Barbara McCann as she presents a fascinating visual show of African textiles! For over five decades, she has researched, travelled and collected textiles from around the world. The talk will focus on the collecting of the African pieces, which she sourced from many remote villages and towns across North Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa. Barbara will also explore the production, economic, historical and cultural importance of textiles.

The Gallery at L.E. Shore is thrilled to announce our annual February colour show - Celebrating the Colour Turquoise! Runs February 3-28.

Every year, the Arts & Culture Council for The Gallery hosts an open invitation, salon styled show centered around a colour theme. Local artists are invited to submit artwork of that colour theme, and our Gallery is hung, floor to ceiling and everywhere in between, with art! This year, artwork will be centered around the vibrant colour of Turquoise.

Art Exhibit Closing: Where We Live

Now showing in The Gallery at L.E. Shore! Ontario artists Karen Bowen, Wanda Haayen and Judy Scopes are pleased to share a collection of their artwork in a tri-artist exhibit, "Where We Live".

These established artists paint places that are special to them - Canadian scenes from coast to coast which evoke the beauty and drama of our countryside and shorelines. All three spend time exploring Grey/Bruce and Simcoe Counties, honouring old barns, heritage towns, hillside farms and the waters of Georgian Bay and its headwater rivers.

Beaver Valley Pipes and Drums invites you to join them on January 27 at the Marsh Street Centre in Clarksburg for Robbie Burns.
Live song, dance, poetry, pipes and drums by Beaver Valley Pipes and Drums. A special address to the haggis. Guests will also be able to try their luck at the silent auction and the 50/50 draw. Also each of our guests will enjoy a sampler of neeps, tatties, and haggis. Complimentary coffee and water
This is a fundraiser for our band.
Tickets are $32 for adults. $25 for children 12 and under.

TBM Repair Café

On the 4th Saturday of every month (except July, August and December) 9am-noon area residents have the opportunity to bring their broken items to the Repair Café, where community volunteers use their skills to help repair them for free. We also share some social time, with coffee or a nice cup of tea and cookies. This adventure not only brings our community together to help our neighbours, it also lengthens the life of the items repaired/mended, diverts items going to our landfill and saves taxpayers money!

Ken volunteered for three months with the Iona Community, an ecumenical Christian retreat centre housed in a restored medieval abbey on Iona.
