It's been more than two decades since the last traditional orienteering event was held in the Kolapore Uplands but several important events were hosted there in the 1980s and 1990s. The first-ever World Masters Games in 1985 included an orienteering qualification race in the Kolapore Uplands, and the Ontario Orienteering Championships were held in Kolapore in 1983 and 1998.
