ACC Presents: Sailing in the Drake Channel & Antarctica

On Thursday, September 14 at 7pm, be transported across the world!

Mary Lou Gignac will recount the Challenges and Joys of sailing a 60-foot sailboat across the Drake Channel and along the Antarctic Peninsula. Many things were more difficult as a solo “older woman”. But then, so many things were better with the wisdom and perspective of being that woman. The beauty and experiences of this journey were beyond belief!

Youth Engagement Comittee and Zen Garden DIY

Have your say on library programs and services, get involved in your community, and meet new friends! Being a part of the Youth Engagement Committee (YEC) gives you a chance to suggest ways that the BMPL can better serve our youth community, offer ideas for exciting teen programs, and provide feedback about the library's teen collection. A great way to acquire your high school community involvement hours while having fun! The Youth Engagement Committee meets the second Thursday of the month.

Exhibit Launch: En Plein Air

The Gallery at L.E. Shore will soon welcome the students and instructors of The Blue Mountain School of Landscape Painting for the month of September! “En Plein Air” runs from September 2-27, with an open reception held on September 2 from 2-4pm.

The Blue Mountain School of Landscape Painting (BMSLP) was founded in 1980, primarily hosting plein air (outdoors) classes. They have gained provincial wide recognition for their excellent instruction in the beautiful outdoors.
