Community Tree Care Day

Treetrust TBM, TC Rotary and The Town of The Blue Mountains will be sponsoring a spring community tree sapling care event on May 13. Volunteers are needed to help apply compost, mulch and water to trees that were planted last year. Community tree care activities will start at Northwinds beach section of the Georgian Trail at 10 am. Tree care activities will continue at 10th line (across from Goldsmiths) at 2 pm.

The Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority will be at the L.E. Shore Library Saturday, May 6th at 11:00am with their Yellow Fish Road Program: Discovery Component.
The Discovery Component of The Yellow Fish Road Program is an engaging, interactive presentation about the flow of pollution into our waterways; and how it can be mitigated.

Exhibit Reception: She Loved the Bay - The Life & Art of Willi Wildman

The Gallery at L.E. Shore is pleased to present a retrospective exhibition of the late local artist, Willi Wildman, during the month of May.

Willi was a prolific landscape painter and a popular art instructor who lived in the Southern Georgian Bay region from the early 1980s until her death March, 2022.

The exhibition includes dozens of Wildman's paintings from various private collections. Willi’s works are informed by and brilliantly capture the quintessential character and moods of the natural terrain, expansive skies and mercurial waters of Georgian Bay.

Loree Forest Spring Adventure Run

Kick-off event for Dontgetlost South Georgian Bay, a new orienteering group in the Collingwood / Blue Mountains area.
We're excited to welcome people of all ages - runners and hikers, novices and experienced navigators. Come out for a 1-hour map adventure exploring the forests and fields of The Len Gertler Memorial Loree Forest, perched above beautiful Georgian Bay. If you like maps and the outdoors but need some tips on navigating, there will be a free basic introductory clinic an hour before the event starts.

iPad Basics at the Library

This class is an introduction to using an Apple iPad, quite useful for beginners but may provide some tips for others as well. We discuss general terms and gestures, navigating through the Home Screens, highlighting some important Settings, how to download from the App Store and using Safari to browse the Internet.

Instructor: Darrell Noseworthy. Maximum registration: 6 people.

The cost of this class is $20 per person. The library accepts cash, debit, Visa and Mastercard. Note: Cancellations must be made 48 hours in advance for a refund.

The Blue Mountains Volunteer Recognition Awards & Volunteer Fair

The Blue Mountains Volunteer Recognition & Awards Ceremony and Volunteer Fair
All members of the community who have volunteered over the past year are welcome to attend and celebrate with a complimentary breakfast including coffee & tea from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Visit the Volunteer Fair to learn about local volunteer opportunities in the Town of The Blue Mountains from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided.

TBM Repair Café

The TBM Repair Café has been a huge success and we continue to look for volunteers who can assist in fixing things.
No qualifications required just a desire to extend the lifespan of items and keep them from going to our landfill.

We are open on the 4th Saturday of every month from 9 to noon. Community volunteers fix/mend items brought in for free while enjoying a free coffee or a nice cup of tea and cookies.

Trivia Game Night

Play against each other or play as a group in a weekly interactive online Trivia Game Night! Fill your house with laughter and glee as you answer questions and compete for the top-spot on our scoreboard. Not available on Friday Nights? Don't worry! You'll be able to play Trivia Game Night throughout the week.

Participate through the BMPL Facebook page every Friday night at 7:00pm when we share the link to the game. Don't have Facebook? The link to Trivia Game Night is available on the BMPL Event Calendar website when it's live.
