The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public that the flags at Town Hall will be lowered for 215 hours (nine days) to honour the lives of 215 children found buried in a mass grave outside of the former Kamloops Indian Residential School in Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation territory.
The Town of The Blue Mountains is located within the boundary of Treaty 18 region of 1818 which is the traditional land of the Anishnaabek, Haudenosaunee and Wendat-Wyandot-Wyandotte peoples. The Town honours and acknowledges the First Nations, Metis and Inuit peoples of Canada as traditional stewards of this land and extends its deepest condolences to all Indigenous communities during this difficult time.
